We had a leisurely lunch at the Water Grill downtown LA. Harry met Eleanor Wish here for dinner, can’t recall which book, but we’re glad this spot made our list. It was wonderful to soak up the air conditioning after the heat of the drive on Mulholland. We started with two dozen oysters, Kumamoto’s from Humboldt Bay and Carlsbad Blond’s. We decided on the Pacific choices, as we see the Wellfleet’s and the rest back east. We followed the oysters with the Crudo Sampler. Although two very different flavors on the oysters, we liked them both equally. Of the Crudo Sampler, the salmon was bland, the tuna was good, and the scollop was sensational. We were served fresh warm rolls while waiting for the oysters, and they were warm, moist, and cheesy (melted cheese in the dough). As we’ve found throughout the trip, our server Amber was personable, attentive and knowledgeable. NOTE: We so hungry we forgot to take a picture of the oysters ‘before’, so see the ‘after’ image below!
Better ate then never:-)
